That was the case during the Cold War, in the mid-1970s, when Saudi Arabia was facing a belligerent South Yemen (People's Democratic Republic of Yemen)and the Saudis wanted help in defending North Yemen (Yemen Arab Republic)... BUT NOT ANYMORE!
