كشف قائد الجيش، العماد جان قهوجي، أن في حوزة المؤسسة العسكرية أسماء بعض «الأشخاص الذين كان لهم علاقة مباشرة بالتفجيرات خلال السنوات الماضية». وذكر مرجع رسمي كبير أن قهوجي يقصد في كلامه ما ورد في التحقيق لدى مديرية استخبارات الجيش مع الموقوفين خالد قنبز وفادي إبراهيم وحمزة قاسم (المنتمين إلى فتح الإسلام) لناحية اعترافهم بأنهم سمعوا أميرَي فتح الإسلام، السابق شاكر العبسي، والحالي عبد الرحمن عوض، يتحدثان في أوقات مختلفة عن دور تنظيمهما في اغتيال كل من النائب وليد عيدو واللواء فرانسوا الحاج والرائد وسام عيد. وأشار مصدر آخر إلى أنّ التحقيقات التي تجريها الاستخبارات تكمل يوماً بعد آخر «البازل» المتعلقة بالتحقيق في هذه الجرائم وغيرها من التفجيرات. وأتى كلام قهوجي خلال حفل تكريمي أقامته على شرفه جمعية الصداقة الإماراتية ـــــ اللبنانية في دبي
