AP corrects Lebanon casualities tally ... as per Israel's count!

"In a story Aug. 14 on the anniversary of the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war, The Associated Press reported that 1,200 people were killed in Lebanon during the month-long conflict. The story should have said that facts about these casualties remain in dispute. Lebanon says most of those killed were civilians. Israel says 600 of the dead were Hezbollah militants."

The IDF insisted when issuing its own figures that 709 or around 60 percent of the dead were "Hamas terror operatives" and that a total of 295 "not involved" Palestinians were killed. By contrast B'Tselem puts the total figure for those who "did not take part in the hostilities" at 773...."
