"The US needs their oil?  Yes.  The Saudis should take little comfort from that"

"...The Saudis should think carefully about this process.  They too fulfill all the criteria to become, perhaps inevitably, a target for the neocon/neo-Wilsonian "crusade" to rid the world of tyrants and tyranny..  They are a highly repressive police state.  They are oppressors of women, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Bahai, gays, etc.  They have no secular constitution.  The Qur'an is their constitution.  They have no civil criminal law code.  Sharia is their law code, Hanbali Sharia.  There ks no political process, no "due process," no democracy.  The country is run for their own benefit by a kleptocracy based on family and sycophancy.  There is, of course, no habeas corpus.
The US needs their oil?  Yes.  The Saudis should take little comfort from that.  It will be asked why such oppressors should have such wealth with which to accomplish rheir selfish, sinful and sybaritic ends.  There are many in Saudi Arabia who would be willing to rise up against the tyrants.
Happily for the Saudis, the US is come upon an era of oil and gas plenty in the Dakotas.  That might save the Saudis from the wrath of the righteous.  pl"
