"...(CBS News) LONDON - The spokesman for America's top military officer, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Martin Dempsey, has been quoted as saying a rocket fired onto the Bagram Air Field in Afghanistan caused minor damage to Dempsey's plane as it sat on the tarmac overnight.
Afghan intelligence officials confirmed the reports to CBS News.
Col. Dave Lapan, Dempsey's spokesman, was quoted as saying the plane was damaged by the rocket, which also injured two American members of the ground crew at Bagram, but that no member of Dempsey's entourage was at risk, as they were all in their private quarters through the night...
The Joint Chiefs chairman arrived in Afghanistan Monday on an unannounced visit to meet with his top commanders in the country, as well as senior Afghan military and civilian officials.
His visit came amid a worrying spike in so-called "insider attacks" on U.S. and other international forces, whereby Afghan security forces turn their guns on the Western forces working alongside them..."
