Dempsey's visit to Israel, his first as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was preceded by multiple, seemingly conflicting messages regarding policy on Iran from Israeli leaders.... During his one-day stopover in Israel, Gen. Dempsey met with Messrs. Netanyahu and Barak. He also met President Shimon Peres, who alluded to the difference of opinions...... "
