US ambassador enters 'barricaded' neighborhoods of Hama

Do we have something similar on record? The representative of a sovereign nation stands with the demonstrators (calling for regime change)in the nation where he is accredited? The hubris!
"... Robert Ford, the ambassador, arrived in Hama on Thursday, and toured the city on Friday morning, ahead of further mass demonstrations against the regime of Bashar al-Assad expected after midday prayers.
Victoria Nuland, State Department spokeswoman, said the purpose of Mr Ford’s visit was “to make absolutely clear with his physical presence that we stand with those Syrians who are expressing their right to speak for change”...Activists claim to be retaining almost complete control of Hama. Dozens of barricades are reported to be in place along many streets and at the entrances to neighbourhoods, with residents taking shifts to stand guard and alert others should security forces approach.“There is no security here at all,” said a Hama protester, who gave his name as Saleh al-Hamwi, on Thursday. “Today, we are making plans for tomorrow. We will be going to the streets like we have done for weeks.”..."
