Traffic in Beirut was horrible today. Tonight, it looked like one of those 'I Love Life' evenings. Sudden Gulfy throngs and fully booked eating venues & drinking holes? What gave? Less than 72 hours ago, folks were anxious. Hotel industry & hospitality captains were bracing for a summer of despair. March14 sedition and instigation seemed bent on bankrupting the country, tenderizing it enough for Saad to rebuild it in due time ... Were people "not Banking on Lebanon"?Then came the political indictment of Hezbollah, and March14 tally men were counting their blessings: Lebanon will cower. Hezbollah will be besieged. Assad will fall, and Tehran will tremble! Something tells me that the calculations of the West's Birkenstocks-in-the-Levant (March14) were not on the money (again). It looks likes 'Fitnah' will be a cool drink for the buzz seekers, and 'civil strife' will remain an XBox game for the inclined.Looks like after stewing in the own venom, Imam Samir Geagea' (the Protector of the Sunnah) and 'Exile' (en francais) Saad Hariri will shed more skin and end up looking like Michele Bachmann & Jaba the Hut? I shudder just imagining this!
