One of the protesters, Hassan Hijazi, appeared briefly before a Tel Aviv court on Tuesday afternoon, but police and the military had no comment on the proceedings. Hijazi, a 28-year-old employee of the Syrian education ministry, managed to travel from the Golan all the way to Jaffa, on Israel's Mediterranean coast. He turned himself in to police after talking to reporters on Monday afternoon and expressing pride at reaching Jaffa, ... "This isn't Israel, this is my country," he said..."
