"... Obama can expect a grudging acceptance of his policies of Iraq & Afghanistan drawdowns..."

"...And should economic recovery remain anemic, hic chances of re-election will dim. In terms of foreign policy, the most important impact will be on the Middle East peace process and China. On the former, Obama’s ability to pressure Israel will further diminish. At the same time, House Republicans will be more sympathetic to Israeli positions on Iran.  On the latter, we expect a bumpy ride, with House Republicans willing to call into question the ‘strategic and economic dialogue’ with Beijing. By contrast, over Iraq and Afghanistan, Obama can expect a grudging acceptance of his policies of drawdown. The new Republican intake contains few who are committed to an extension of US operations in either country. ..."
