I was flying out of Beirut airport just as Assayed touched down and held his press conference. On the way to the gate, all the TVs were blasting his press conference; people were crowded around the TVs, Assayed's voice echoing down the corridor from TV to TV set, until someone somewhere finally decided to lower the volume.
Jazeera kept looping the same clip of Assayed urging security, engulfing his slight frame, to move back a little.
