"Iraqi political forces are maneuvering to build a variety of coalitions in preparation for the parliamentary elections scheduled for next January.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki sought and received the support of Sheikh Ahmad Abu Risha, the man responsible for organizing al-sahwa, the Awakening movement that fought and expelled Al-Qaeda from Anbar Province in Western Iraq.
However, following what was described as a secret visit to Saudi Arabia, Abu Risha abruptly changed his mind and announced he would not join Al-Maliki's "State of Law" coalition...."
