Obama agrees to Israel's request to remove East Jerusalem from settlement freeze negotiations

Haaretz, here
"  ... According to both Israeli officials and Western diplomats, U.S. envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell has recognized the fact that Netanyahu cannot announce a settlement freeze in East Jerusalem. The officials said the U.S. will not endorse new construction there, but would not demand Jerusalem publicly announce a freeze.
Netanyahu also said that Abbas' reported willingness to meet with him was "a positive first step."
Finally, Israel wants the freeze to have a clear "exit plan." In Israel's view, the freeze is a confidence-building measure that must be matched by reciprocal steps from the PA and Arab states. Is Palestine Israel's to take would be more relevant! Yet, when might is right, there is no point in talking about principles and justice, otherwise, we would not be in the mess we are!

israel is taking. and obama is pushing for negociations.
but it seems that he is the counterpart. he gives Israel what does not belong to him. in other words, he does not recognize any role to the palestinians.

and thank you to FLC for an excellent blog!

Wow what a surprise Obama folds again and Netanyahu does everything he can to make a Palestinian state unfeasible.

Yeah good luck with Abbas now all you need to get on board is the democratically elected government and the people.
