The Council for Foreign Relations will be well served to drop as a source of information and idiotic analyses people like Schenker (see the link about Khaled Meshal in the posting). The Council will be well served by reading the NYT interview where if one wants to know Hamas, the best source is Hamas itself and not SMI. Israeli's position countering that of the Obama's administration is to deal with Iran before dealing with the Palestinian issue. Obama's position is clearly stated by Emmanuel at the AIPAC convention. Any effort to deal with Iran before solving the Palestinian issue is doomed to fail. The Izzies would like to say that Iran will sabotage any deal, hence the need to deal with it first. Meshal has clearly said in the NYT interview that Hamas will be part of the solution. Period. Hence, the Izzies will have to bow to these new facts on the ground or face isolation and eventually oblivion.
