Obama added that he hopes Iran will assume its "rightful place in the community of nations" but that doing so "comes with real responsibilities" and that the goal "cannot be reached through terror or arms." Obama's apparent efforts at outreach come ahead of a March 31 international summit on Afghanistan policy, to which Washington has invited Tehran. They also come with the Obama administration reiterating its stance that Iran should abandon its nuclear enrichment program--which many countries suspect Iran hopes will help it develop nuclear weapons, though Tehran denies this claim...."
