I think that there is an American dictum, a cynical one for that matter, that no good deed shall go unpunished. The assassination of Mughaniyyeh is viewed in Israel and the West as a 'good deed' indeed! Hence, it must not go 'unpunished'. Be careful what you wish for, you may get it! Of course, in the Arab and Islamic worlds, Mughaniyyeh is the quintessential hero. He will be remembered and avendged. The mood in this part of the world has completely shifted. No one gives a hoot of what the West or the so-called international community thinks. Arabs in general, and Palestinians in particular, have seen how 'even' and 'balanced' are the policies of the West. It will be reaping what it has sown for many long years. One of such harvests, is Oussama Bin Laden, an aberration one must confess but embodying the resentment of over 1.3 billion people. A figure to be reckoned with.
