Khaddam: 'I expect the Syrian army to topple Assad!'

(Reuters) — "...Khaddam, who fled to Paris in 2005 after nearly 20 years as vice president, also told Egypt's Al-Shorouk newspaper he expected the Syrian army to stop supporting Assad and end "the sectarian strife he and his family are instigating."... Opposition figures distrust Khaddam because of his decades of work in the Baath Party, and the massive wealth he accumulated while in office..."

If anyone is leading sectarian strife, it is Khaddam himself!

Regardless of his past, Khaddam is speaking the truth, he got nothing to gain or lose at this point. Beacause of his background , he knows the mechanisnm of Assad mafia. We all know that they thrive on secterian devision. Secterian strife is the only way the Assad mafia can continue control the country. They have nothing else to offer, they b\never offered anything but corruption, torture and fear to the Syrian people
