Paris' take: "Michel Edde interim President of Lebanon for 2 years"

"GQ", a Lebanese Official, who was in Paris at the time Siniora was there for talks with president Sarkozy & Condoleeza Rice, rapports the following in an email:
"Michel Edde is gonna be president for an interim period of 2 years during which a new electoral law will be drafted and a new parliamentary election held, to select a president for 6 years ..."

L'Orient-le-Jour as court newspaper?
Seriously though: how is a Parliament that can't even achieve quorum supposed to successfully (i.e. unconstitutionally yet peacefully) elect someone on an "interim basis" and then "draft an electoral law"? They would have to "get" (one way or the other) Birri. Short of that this just another still-born plan. And if Birri could/can be "got" this plan would be/is unnecessary to begin with. Impasse.

Berri Is a great Lebanese leader. Why dont you try to open your eyes and see what little pawns you are the the US and others.....Berri is not the problem the problem is that the the country devides thier positions along a long out dated census....Lets find out who truly lives and Lebanon and let them pick thier leaders. Mr. Berri always get his vote and support from his group
